Call me by your name movie

The romance between Elio and Oliver turned the world around in 2017 when Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer starred in the movie Call Me By Your Name, based on the book of the same name written by André Aciman. The film genre that gringos call “coming of age” is about teenagers discovering who they are and Call Me By Your Name is one of the most beautiful films of this genre.

This is the story of a gay teenager who, during a summer vacation in Italy, meets an older guy who awakens his sexuality and with whom he falls madly in love. This is not a tragic story of homophobia or bigotry, but a tale about how intoxicating teenage lust is and about the intensity of first love, all filmed by Luca Guadagnino in a way that will make you feel like you are in Italy under the sun by a pool. After the furor of the film its director confirmed that there would be a sequel portraying the reunion between the two characters at a more adult age, a reunion that would take place in the United States and that would revive the memories and feelings between Elio and Luca. However, the project has been canceled, at least for now, after those involved lost interest in it. Luca Guadagnino confessed in an interview that he has no plans to make the second part, mainly because he is focused on other projects that demand too much of his time.

Call me by your name final explanation

Madrid, Jun 12 (EFE) – After the success of “Call me by your name”, André Aciman brings the couple Oliver and Elio back together in his new novel “Encuéntrame”, a book where love, desire, memories and happiness are the ingredients of this sequel that “will surprise” readers who “yearn to know more” about these characters.

Against all odds, this novel begins and focuses (much of it) on Sami, Elio’s father, now divorced. He travels from Florence to Rome to visit his son, who has become a talented classical pianist. A chance meeting on the train leads to a relationship that changes Sami’s life for good.

“As soon as I got off the train and we parted I started writing the novel, and I didn’t stop until I finished it. That’s when I realized that I was focusing wrong and that the protagonist of the first part had to be the father, no matter what,” explains the Alexandrian.

While the first book is characterized by new emotions, first love and feelings driven by illusion, “Encuéntrame” highlights melancholy, memories and the experience of dealing with a new love.

Call me by your name netflix

Armie Hammer premieres these days the new version of the classic ‘Rebecca’ on Netflix, and so he took the opportunity to reveal the status of the sequel that we are waiting for and that concerns ‘Call me by your name’.

2021 looks promising for Hammer with a couple more projects of which we will soon have more details, but what many fans of the actor are interested in knowing is when they will shoot the sequel to Call Me by Your Name, acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino’s (Suspiria) film adapted from the novel by André Aciman. The protagonists of the film: Oliver (Hammer) and Elio (Timothée Chalamet) are part of contemporary pop culture, so Armie is aware of the expected reunion of this couple.

What Hammer does not know, or did not want to say, is that Luca was going to meet before the pandemic with a well-known writer in the United States to work on the script, which did not happen, but he confirmed that besides Hammer and Chalamet, Michael Stuhlbarg and Esther Garrel return in their same roles.
