Solo a star wars story filmaffinity
star wars saga
«Star Wars» has two mythical characters that, I suspect, perhaps even George Lucas did not foresee in their entirety. One is Vader, the other Han Solo. No, Luke is not among them. Too bland.
And the viewers? Well, there have been three groups. There are the fanatical geeks. Those people are a cult and you can’t argue with them. They didn’t like it at all. Everything is wrong, everything is a disaster, death to Disney, that Alden dies of anal cancer, and that kind of nonsense. I won’t dedicate any more lines to them because they give what they are.
I think that «Solo: a…» is an average movie. It is not what the eponymous character deserved. The mess that Kathleen Kennedy (a very dangerous aunt) made when she fired Phil Lord and Chris Miller, replacing them with that puppet Ron Howard, was not very wise. But, of course, there was so much money involved that they preferred not to experiment. Howard is like vanilla-flavored ice cream: you won’t get any unpleasant surprises, but don’t expect anything new on the horizon.
star wars episode 3 filmaffinity
Despite being in probably the worst movie of the first six, Darth Maul is by far the best enemy and the one that in my opinion, and I would risk to say that in the opinion of many, could have given more game if he had not disappeared «apparently executed» at the end of chapter 1.
Poor Han is a brainless idiot, which gets into trouble one after another and in the end some imperials end up locking him in a cage for a beast to devour him. Can you guess who the beast is? That’s right, our furry bear friend is dedicated to eating human flesh.
I don’t consider myself a Star Wars fan: I enjoy the films, they are fun and enjoyable but they don’t fascinate me to the point of sitting down and watching the whole saga non-stop. Here’s another case of that: Something fun, with good performances and a story that while slow, passes the limbo of being as awful as some extreme fans make it out to be. Saves, entertains, nothing more. A good movie to pass the time.
Well, a good spin off, a movie far from the level expected from the main ones, but that fulfills its function of bringing us closer and making us know a character better (even when no one had asked for it).
the lord of the rings movies
Although it’s set in the Star Wars world and arguably has as much action as Rogue One, I think we’re looking at a very different product, it is and isn’t Star Wars. And I think that’s what makes it different from the rest. For some a heresy, for others a fresh air to this over-exploited franchise.
It has its flaws, and you can see that parts of the script are not quite well closed, perhaps because of the rush to finish and / or a bad production in general. But they are minor and do not affect the main plot.

order of the star wars movies
As already happened in Rogue One, not being an «episode» of the Star Wars saga, it has a point of aesthetic freedom, and again decides to be more «dirty» and dark. Which is fine with me. We don’t have immaculate spaceships with white Imperial soldiers. We have underworld, mud, dirt and darkness. In fact, surely, the first few minutes are so dark that it’s hard to even recognize faces. And also to my taste, in the first fights, it sins of what many current action movies do, an excessive camera movement and continuous changes of shot, to try to give a sensation of great intensity, the intensity has to be obtained in another way, not dizzying the spectator.
Of all of them, the Corellian part is the one that convinces me the least, I would have liked to see, not only the underworld and the mud, but also the facilities of a leading shipbuilding industry. And I’m not convinced at all by that stage of Han Solo enlisted in the imperial ranks, not at all, no matter how much they want to put it as a disbelieving step as a springboard to something else and convinced deserter. No, that didn’t convince me as part of Han Solo’s story.
